Here’s to Love

My drowsy feet are pressing against the numbness of fresh mud. Quick splashes of darkness start virtually cuddling me from behind and then absorb the importance of my being. The incessant beat of the music and dancing of little hoops of waves. Where shall I hide my unshielded vulnerability?

Standing right in the middle of your natural habitat brings out the unfortified, undefended self of yours; a smaller than life projection. Waves must not kiss the nib of my feet. Not even the smudging hues my sudden intrusion brought into the edge of life. Footprints of a woman clothed in a knee length dress darker than its own silhouette. Obsolete. Of a bygone age. I shall keep my distance from the gusty wind. It’s licking the optimist in me. Keeping my physical being away from the trickery has always been my way of feeling exuberance. The sea may abduct me to the paradise of death. Or, I may just relish the ecstasy of being part of something sensational. Instead, I look at the lighthouse carved in the shape of a dolphin’s nose. Why was it built that way? To delude the splashing desire of the good old sea? Should I let the water touch me the way the typical woman inside of me desires to be touched? An unconsciously conscious hankering for marine viability.

No, I’m not looking at those white fiery ringlets of delirium. I’m putting my heart and head together to enjoy the superficiality life unrolls; another replica of a replica. Yet nature found me. The water bubbles touched the black bruises on my toes. My mind and body were suffused with the kind of zeal that could only be elucidated as passion; an intensive passion. Suddenly the lighthouse was no longer the centre of attraction. The intoxicating odour of the sea won over my nose, the mushy infinitesimal specks of sand took me inside the box of the magician and my soul jumped deep inside the unknown to quench the thirst of million years.

You’re the water. You’re the sea. My soul has been dancing at your music more than Bob Dylan could ever get out of me. You’re the reason lighthouses will always be outwitted by the sea.

Eternity is just one click away.
