The Silent Words

Have you ever struggled to explicate the meaning of silence? Put vague, deliberate words into the mouth of this inexplicable nipper? Some silent words. Words silently uttered.

Silently numb. Silently exhilarated. Silently broke.

Isn’t silence a distant cousin of chaos? Chaos sneers at him anticipating how easily he takes over the spectra of emotions! But little does he know that silence works in a more insidious way.

Silence is less-truth, more-fiction.

Are we ever silent? When our face muscles don’t move and our lips keep the same good deportment, the world leers at us as if we’re some flat, mindless dummies. But a sweeping wave of thoughts cascade down the spine and circulate in the bloodstream every now and then. Each day more than ten thousand thoughts (numerous contradictory statements are there regarding the specific number of thoughts that enters a human brain) simultaneously animate and jeopardize this huge vessel of contemplations. And this oft-repeated phenomenon is brilliantly camouflaged with serenity to the outside world.

Silently lost. Silently found.

Are words more dominating than silence? Words are subject to vengeance. They’ll come back to you like a boomerang. In the end you end up hurting yourself. But silence has the supreme power of throttling your adversary with the absolute assurance of no verbal consequences. A silent retort.

Silently chaotic.

Silently won.

  18. What we do in the silent hours of the night most often defines who we are.

Silence can be haunting. To be left alone with our thoughts can show us who we really are.
